Good morning everyone,

I am having issues finding the correct fuel pump relay for my SEC. The car doesn't want to start and I understand the fuel pump relay needs replacing.

The OEM number on the faulty one is 0035450105

This part is extremely hard to find however I have found a couple but are very expensive (around £100).

When I search for this item on ebay many show up for around £20, the part number is 0035452405. The description shows this part fits the following:
W124 W201 W126 R107

My question is will this fit my 500SEC 2nd gen model?

Please can someone help me as I have checked many forums but no luck.

Regards

NK

Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid your cheaper option there comes up as suitable for the six cylinder motors not the V8. From a quick search of the part number at least.

The car will probably run, but not correctly. The rev limit is contained in this unit for a start so that may make for an odd drive.

It's a pain in the arse isn't it. Another option would be getting your old one rebuilt, member JamesDean on here can do this and has a postal service. In the US though.

Hello NK & Welcome to BenzWorld!

In addition to the other's contributions.. Bauk is correct, that relay will work in your car. The 003 545 25 05 relay is original to my '91 500SEC...

Ian is correct that your original relay most likely can be repaired as well.. and its a DIY project.. Dead easy too.

Two years ago, once resoldered, I reinstalled my original and keep the modern knock-off as a spare [in the car].
Here are some pics from the parts catalog and details on where the solder joints go bad on the board.
You can see one of the open circuited cracked joints in the closeup below.

Good luck man.

Yeah no harm in trying it for that. Just keep an eye on it.

If you use advanced search in this community section, you can find details of another aftermarket one that can work. I've got one as a spare. One person had one melt, but others of us are using them with care. Mine is OK but doesn't bump the revs when the air conditioner comes on, as it should. Otherwise it's functional. I can't remember the details but it's all on here somewhere.

No offense meant, but adding your issue to this seems to muddy the waters, in my mind.

That said, please do look at: Каталог MERCEDES and fill in the blanks with your VIN etc.
Then save this as a favorite & go forward to find the part number.

You'll be able to look up part numbers for your car with ease... This site has been a godsend to me over the last six years at least.
That said, I have shared with fellow BW 126 enthusiasts since 2004 or so.m Just add your VIN, save and choosa as a favorite/shortcut.

Not 100% always dead on... but almost damn near for all these years.

Good Luck

Details are in the search archives on how to jump them. As John says it would make sense.
Worth checking out. Some cars were pins 7 and 8 but some cars different. Mine was the latter but I don't remember what those ones were. Maybe 30 and 87?

Some of us never exceed [or get up to 5000RPM I am told]..

When driving my SEC, I often like to plant the gas pedal and watch the tach & transmission spool up to the redline, then feel the upshift in my back.. as I smile from ear to ear..

My Inner-hoodlum appears.

With a custom exhaust that is even more satisfying......

Vroom Vroom!

Not e v e r y time, but.. you know...

Sounds great.

What custom exhaust do you have if you don't mind me asking
