Just updated the glow plugs in my 1975 240D to the Bosch Duraterm pencil style. While it came with a new relay I opted not to install it as the instructions pretty much sucked and it's only for the post glow which I don't really need. I just wired the plugs in parallel and removed the ground strap on the number one plug as the new ones get their ground from the block. Unfortunately now I seem to have some starting problems. Sometimes the car will start right up but more often than not I pull the starter knob on the dash and nothing happens. The battery is new and has a full charge and I've checked all the ground points. Anybody have an idea of what could be wrong? Maybe a short somewhere? Any trouble areas to look for in particular?
Thanks!
Update: Problem fixed, must have created a short while inadvertently moving things during the glow plug install. Found a short going to the starter solenoid... duh...
