According to WIS, 2011 C300 4matic front differential oil change would require to take off the passenger axle because there is no fill port. I have changed the oil without following the the WIS complicated procedure. I used redline diff oil which supports MB 235.7 specification.

Good News is that there is drain bolt similar to the 722.96 transmission and there is also breather hole on the top of diff.

So you can use the similar tools such as MityVac extractor/fill and the 722.9 adaptor (search on amazon) to fill the diff oil from drain port after draining the old fluid.

You need to fill in 600 ml plus 50-60 ml oil extra to account for any drip-off while putting back the drain bolt back after taking off the adaptor. You can use your finger to stop the fluid while screwing the 6mm hex bolt in the diff.

Note: The oil was greyish after 30K miles.

Last weekend I was changing my 2013 c300 fluids. Could not quite figure out the front differential.:frown Saw the drain plug, but since no fill plug, i did not touch it. Your post makes perfect sense.
One question, though: the adaptor for 722.9 transmission, will it work on this drain hole? Want to make sure before I drain the fluid and found out that I need another adaptor.

That's exactly how my indy changed the front diff fluid on my 2013 S204 C250 CDI 4Matic. I used the Fuchs Titan Sintopoid FE SAE 75W-85 and used 550ml for the front and 1,1l for the rear differentials. The old fluid in the front was dark grey in the rear was yellow like brand new. It was the 1st diff fluid change on my car at 148k miles, next fluid change will be at 39k miles.

Can anyone confirm or deny an older post that stated, on a pre-facelift 2009 C300 4matic, that the drain plug size/thread pitch for the front diff. differs from the transmission drain plug size ?

Yes, Transmission 722.9 drain and 2009-2012 C300 4-matic front diff drain bolts are same. You can check it by ordering it online.

Before draining, make sure you have ATF adaptor and pump similar to Mitty Vac. Use 600-750 ml of Fuchs Titan Sintopoid FE or Redline SAE 75W-85 diff fluid.

So just so I'm clear. The front diff drain plug is the SAME on a facelift w204 as well as pre-facelift. Correct?
I have the Mityvac ATF adapter because I plan on doing the tranny fluid change and wanted to be sure it was the same for my 2013 C300 4matic.

I have a 2009 C300 4matic and I’m confused on the fill capacity.. is it 600ml or 1.1 liters? My owners manual says 1.1 liters. It says the difference between the capacity depends on whether you have a C250 or C300/C350

Thank you for your advise, I fill the front axle through the breather, this Is a 3.5 liters engine and I had to remove air filter and alternator for Easy and clear access to the breather. I attach some pictures.
