Hello! First post here and thank you for all the info on these boards. Very helpful so far. I have a problem I have not seen on here. I have a 2009 SL550 and the trunk will not power close from the trunk lid button. It will power close from the door switch (although I do have to hold it down). I have replaced the button in the trunk lid, and that did not fix the problem. The uniqueness from previous posts I have seen in this forum is the fact that it will from the driver's door switch. I am at a loss at the next steps in troubleshooting and would greatly appreciate any help.

Does yours have the two buttons in the trunk lid, one to close and one to close-and-lock? If so, does the second one work?

 

Yes. Two buttons and neither work. I only hear a bit of air and then nothing happens.

 

That would suggest the harness that feeds those two buttons is broken somewhere. Do the buttons light up?

 

Both buttons light up. Do you know if there is a way to test the wires? Should they have a specific resistance or voltage?

 

I have the same problem but it doesn't close with door switch either. Both trunk lid buttons are lit

 

I have the same issue. Door button works, two switches lit but get the same reaction when attempting to use. Replaced the switch as well with no change. I have done a lot of searching for a solution with no luck. I have traced the wires as far as I can with no flaw found. I have a voltmeter but not sure what the readings should be. I had to replace the trunk lock after repetitive leaks and the switch never worked after reassembly. I hope your thread sheds some light on the problem. Thanks for posting!

 

It worked before you replaced the trunk lock?
I think its an electrical issue, I had a similar (not the same) issue where some connectors to the tumbler switches were corroded, they sense the position of the rotary claw that pulls the lid to the second fully closed position...

 

Why, I thought I was the only one with the same issue , anyone ever find the fix ??
