The question is too vague. One really needs to know the condition of the car, like rust, paint, interior, driveability, maintenance performed, etc, in order to assess its worth. I'm sure that one of the experts on this board could value it but they have to see and drive it in person. But with the info you've given, I'd say it's worth anywhere from $1000-$8000.

 

They are very cheap over here at the moment (if you can find one that hasn't been scrapped) because of legislation changes which discourages the use of "old diesels".

 

1985 was one of the best years for the W123 in the States due to a number of design changes made to the car. However, since yours is gray market and non-turbo it's tough to say whether or not these would apply.

So much is subjective on these when it comes to value and the way the car is optioned. You would have to provide a lot more detail as far as condition, provenance, etc., to expect even a remotely accurate idea of value. That even extends to where you're located, as in some parts of the country these things are common and not in others, having a direct effect on value.

My son has a 85' Euro with 5 speed and now a turbo motor. Got it about 5 years ago for $4500. We paid more for it having a 5 speed and turbo motor. We figured we paid just what it was worth at the time. Now the rust has gotten to it a bit. He plans on looking for a coupe or wagon to drop in has drive train.

Issues are that it may not be an 85, alot of time the local DMV put the year it was imported in as the year...

On the mileage, take it with a grain of salt....Usually when imported the KPH was never transferred to MPH...Plus these od's are known to not work more then they do...

Not a lot of people look for a euro model....only ones are the ones who owned a 240D and looking for more power but a stick shift...Thus the euro stick...

Sometimes the euros' didn't come with american comfort features and people don't like that...

If it still has all its euro features that adds to it but if it was federalized to the T...It detracts...
