Might as well ask. what are the diff ratios available?
My 91' 190 2.6 spins 3k at 62mph seems to be a bit much. Sometimes I wonder if its in high gear or not.

i have some of them written down there,
With a 3.07 diff and a automatic trans, doesnt seem that of.
Crawl under your car and check what numbers are stamped on your diff, ofc someone could have swapped the diff prior for something a bit more "sporty".

Thank you all. Exactly what I had looked for but not found. I didn't find any tags on the diff when I changed the oil last month but I didn't look for a stamp next time its on the ramps I'll have another peak and measure the roll out of the tires. then maybe hunt for a used diff and swap. The cars a backup vehicle for us, with 245k on the od.

Greetings from Belgium, I would like to have your opinion... I have a Mercedes 190E 2.0 from 12/1989 sportline I have a DIFF problem on it (a huge noise and apparently an oil leak) I wanted to know if it's normal that at 100km/h GPS the babybenz displays 120km/h? maybe this isn't the original DIFF? before trying to restore it I wanted to know if it was original... is there a ratio on the DIFF? how do I know what ratio it had originally? I was able to spot the number on the back of the DIFF (R124 351 06 08) also the KM/mils counter remains frozen (speed ok) the counter remains at 202... KM my 201 is equipped with ASD and ABS Thanks for your help ... greetings and friendship

Welcome to the forum to you @baabar

If you're able to put the car into your profile that'd be helpful 👍

Hello Baabar.
Most manufactures have tags that can be decoded as to what engine, trans and final drive ratios were installed at the factory however i do not know if there's such a tag on the 190's, nor how to decode it, Yet.
I'm still keeping my ears open for a low priced center section to swap out and lower my RPM's but as my 190 sees only 2000 miles per year it is not high on the list.
