As one can see in the diagram, SLS does not even list a part for the bearing...it is a bearing ??

You replace the "ball ends" that screw on the the rods. They are available from Mercedes. Each rod has a right hand thread and a left hand thread ball stud. They have different PNs.

I think the theory was that you could adjust them on the car by turning the rod.

 

The play is not inside the ball joints, but in the shaft and shaft "towers/holders"

 

this play does not really affect the system , if you adjust the linkages in a way to compensate for the play .

The bushing at the support bracet on the left side of the engine doesn't usually become as worn but the one on the intake controls side to side thrust and wears much faster. I have set a zip tie in the manifold bracket and popped the linkage into it which tightens it quite a lot.
