Hello,

I am now going over the engine ancillaries and noticed the throttle linkage has play in the bearings - my question is, how is this rectified, are there bearing inside that needs to be replaced?

Does it require machining?

Thank you

You replace the "ball ends" that screw on the the rods. They are available from Mercedes. Each rod has a right hand thread and a left hand thread ball stud. They have different PNs.

I think the theory was that you could adjust them on the car by turning the rod.

The bushing at the support bracet on the left side of the engine doesn't usually become as worn but the one on the intake controls side to side thrust and wears much faster. I have set a zip tie in the manifold bracket and popped the linkage into it which tightens it quite a lot.
