I've been searching around forums for a few days now and I have been having a really hard time sourcing information for my A/C problems.

My compressor will try to engage when turned on inside the car, but will not spin. I found out when I fried my my A/C idler belt. Is this possibly a fail-safe in the compressor like in the W123's when it runs out of freon? Or is it likely just fired and I need a rebuild or new compressor?

I would like to do the work myself and since I am military so I have A/C equipment to properly work on the system. I am trying to find some A/C info on the W115 but all I have found is the Dieselgiant's DIY for W123.

I also can't find a compressor for sale other than some AC Delco or FOur Seasons. I'd like to stick to the York with the R12.

Any help at all would be great.

We carry both the York compressor and the ac clutch for your vehicle. They are separate items, and you'll need to determine which has failed.
