Just unwrapped my spoiler, it was installed on the remains of a 1985 500SEL sitting in a South Alabama junk yard. Nothing remains of the car, long time gone, but trunk lid with spoiler remained. Without asking too many questions, purchased the emblems (star & 500sel), trunk lid chrome handle and spoiler. AMG emblem long gone. They originally didn't want to separate spoiler and trunk, but changed their mind.

Spoiler with wing is in average shape, structurally sound, but needs repainting, originally black. See picture. Was hoping it was 7880367 but it's Zender

Couple of questions

What is the difference between AMG parts number 7880367 and Zender 5.303.03.3 KBA 36369 or 38369 (hard to read)?

Are the above meant/sold for a 1984 500SEL?

My 1984 500SEL, re-labeled "1000" in 1986. See picture.

Not sure if I will install or not, thoughts anyone?

That spoiler is my favorite for an SEL. Much more sleek and just a bit more modern looking than the AMG trunk spoilers.

Pretty convincing, after seeing those two "in your face" pictures. After more detailed review KBA number on the Zender is 36369, as well not 040, but grey. Two mounting clips (ends) and two mounting screws (middle). I do like the basket weaves as well, but sticking with all 040 as much as possible.

That 040 blk 500SEL is 48hp's car. Here is what oz 3 piece wheels look like on it and a better picture of the basket weaves.
