Ok I did a bad bad thing today. I traded my 89 420 SEL in for a Saab Convertible. I was at wits end with putting 60 bucks a week in gas and the 8.5 qt of oil every 3500 miles. I will miss her. But I got a heck of a trade in amount because of how clean my car was. They gave me just under $4000 for trade in on a $8200. I think that it was a great deal from what I understand the newer Saab get 27mpg mixed driving if you keep your foot out of the turbo. Tonight on the way home I was driving like I drove in the benz and the info center was telling me that I was getting just over 32 mpg. I will miss the benz. I will come back and see what kind of post I get from this.

Thanks to all you great guys and gals for all the great help that you have given me over the last year.

The Saab is a 9-3 turbo 2002 with 31,000 miles with all the options but the automatic transmission

Didn't Saab just go out of business? But no worries, my guess is that you won't be driving it 22 years after it was built like you did the Benz.

relatively low miles for the year.
Buy a W201...they get great gas mileage...especially my 190D 2.5 turbo diesel.:yelrotflmao:

Not bad, it's a low mileage car. Just change the oil every 5K and use a high quality syntetic oil. Actually, it's due for an oil change right now.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Someone else will buy the 420 and I think it's much better to have it in the hands of someone who will enjoy and appreciate it. And they'll obviously appreciate it or they wouldn't buy it.
