Just thought I'd share this document I found. It goes into quite extensive detail about the two MB coolants, but also states "Fortunately, the yellow-dyed G05 formula is 100% compatible with the pretty new blue stuff. So, if you replace a water pump, hose, or a head gasket, you don’t have to do a complete coolant flush and replace."

Excellent point....unless YOU do your own mixing of the M/B coolant and the Zerex G5, one could assume that any green coolant is compatable. Not good.....

Few years back I had a dealer change out my leaking original radiator. This was just after M/B had come out with their new blue stuff and thats exactly what they used. So now I am stuck with it.

Before, I used the Zerex G5 and actually preferred it. It is readily available and usually a few dollars cheaper.

I needed to top off my yellow coolant, and had already opened the blue stuff, so I was relieved when I found the article I posted. However, I can see how the resulting green could end up causing someone trouble down the road who isn't doing their own maintenance. Point well made.
