How about the spark plug hole drains? Are they plugged? Easy way to test is to fill each with water and see if any are slow to drain. That’ll sure make the ignition system unhappy when it’s raining heavy and you’re splashing through those wonderful Oahu streets.
Sorry for visiting a topic that seems to have already gotten a lot of airtime, but even after digging through many forum threads, I cannot find a definitive description on what the OVP relay does and why Benz owners are always suspecting them as THE culprit for many engine woes, and subsequently...
Speaking of process of elimination, one thing I've put off for a very long time is changing my voltage regulator. Again no idea why it might affect ignition but like the OVP, its all electrical. I started testing with my multi meter yesterday evening but haven't got as far as testing the distributor yet. I have the green factory manuals but anything you can share nutz would be appreciated. Need to go back to my thread when I changed out my ignition module.
Work got busy so won't have time till the weekend to dive in again. My plan now is to change my voltage regulator and replace the OVP which I ordered. After that my electrical system should be good to go, and I can eliminate that (if it has any influence at all).
Any guides/numbers for testing my coil? Ohms from terminal to terminal 2ohm at best, should be 3-4 no?

Long-time lurker here. This might be my first post!
anyway I am trying to replace all the seals on my coupe sunroof (1982 230ce) and am looking for a bit of help;

My water pump is seized and needs replacing but I cannot get it out of the housing.
I have had it submerged in vinegar for the last two days to try and break down any rust and free it, but it just wont budge.
Anyone have any suggestions?
