..Always pays to keep a record of correspondence, as you never know when a communications "glitch" may occur and other records just seem to disappear. Guess that's why the futuristic paperless office we were told about in the 80's turned out to be a non event as everyone used to photocopy the important stuff - just to be sure there was a record. These days, we just save files. You never know when trivial inane communications from the most obscure people possible may be of handy future reference. Kinda keeps people true to what they originally said, but only needs to be re-aired if absolutely necessary.
