I got my extended warranty from MB. The problem with aftermarket extended warranties is that (1) you pay for the warranty up-front and (2) you don't know the financial strength of the warranty company and whether the company will be there when you need them (i.e. four to eight years from now). You can make a good bet the MB will be around. The other suggestion is that GEICO has mechanical breakdown insurance, which is like an extended warranty, except you pay for that monthly with your automobile insurance. Other auto insurance companies may have the same coverage.
