I would like to install XM in my wifes 2002 w203 wagon. Is there a DIY that anyone knows of that i can use to get this done? Thanks
not sure what you mean by DIY....
you can get the xm2go or something similar. it has built in fm modulator; you plug in the cigarette cord and tune your radio to 88.1 FM and off you go. total install takes about 45 seonds.
if you want something nicer (read: permanent) then you can get one of the xm radio vehicle kits such as the roady. with these you mount a permanent display and get a remote control. the display can be custom mounted in the ashtray or even inside the rearview mirror. a separate antenna is included and must be mounted to provide sat reception either inside on the dashboard or outside on the roof, etc. power is wired directly to the vehicle fuse center. this can be done DIY if you are the handy type and dont mind taking you vehicle apart. if not an install shop can do the whole thing for roughly $300-$600 depending on how nice you want the installed system to look.
