Does anybody know whether all Japan market 1997-1999 w140s were fitted with Xenon lights?
I have a Japanese spec 1997 S600 (Build date Dec 1996), which is currently fitted with regular halogen lights, but as the head light height adjustment doesn't work and the rubber trim on top of them (seals between the headlight and the bonnet) are rapidly crumbling, I thought I'd replace them with the original spec factory xenons.
The other annoyance is that being Japanese spec the beam pattern is set for RHD even though the car is actually LHD and even at full adjustment the beam pattern can't be corrected. For that reason alone I'm happy to stump up the necessary for replacement units.
It looks like the current units may have been retrofitted, so I need help identifying whether the car originally had Xenons and hence they would easily retrofit, and what I need to check before ordering?
Anybody got any tips what to look for?
