Xenon fit for original front end?

1596 Views 28 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Schmohey
I'm very interested in doing the genuine xenon replacement for my 300SD.

Most of the ones I've seen is with the newer front end, mine's the original.

Was just curious if anyone else has done it or is in the process of doing it and what's involved.

If so, is there any sites with the stuff to order that's good quality for my Benz?

Thanks a lot for the info!

genuine xenon? There are no genuine xenon's made for 126's..

If you look around this was just discussed on this board.

Genuine meaning not a halogen that's just colored blue for a slight change.

And I kinda know xenon's weren't made for W126 - My car was about 17 years old when they first started with the xenons on the new crap cars, so don't assume I don't know anything about vintage Benz's - that's like you asking about adding a real nav system to one of your old MB's and me saying "yeah, they didn't have a nav system they put in 1987 stock" LOL.

I know it's been discussed, but it's been more "ohhh! look at what this person did" and a bunch of people saying "yeah, that's cool". What I was looking for was links and sites where I can order crap for the conversion from and if I need to make something for the old front end of the original W126. Now I know I have to convert to a Euro light and probably go from there.

Thanks for all the valuable info, JR!

I guess from everythink I've read and from hwta JR's said is that it's possible, but probably most practicle to switch to euro's and maybe just put a blue tinted halogen in.
