I want to know what the difficulties are, if there are any on aftermarket keyless entries systems as oppose to an OEM or dealer installed system.

This is a part of the car, that I'm afraid to go to a Chop shop like Al & Ed's.

I know there was an article the showed how to connect an aftermarket Alarm system to the Vacuum Pump for the MBZ's.

Any recommendations of particular brands...? for some reason European cars to me have always been synonymous with ALPINE. But I just found out that they stop making Security Systems.

Any particular install shop's or dealerships...? There was Henry's back in my day here in Orange County, which later spawned of to Audio Chamber, and I think it's the whole thing that start Al & Ed's Autosound...

I'm really not into 1-button remotes, I like the new LCD pager alarms.

Thanks for any advice.

The electrical connection on the vaccum pump is very simple.

If you want I can post up the colors of the cables and their function.

I believe that all you have to do is +12V one of the cables to lock up and GROUND the same cable to lock.

Dont quote me on that, I'll have to search for the diagram here on my PC

Thanks guys, that was a good! I read the article, that's pretty nice for something under $60 and a DIY. REC-8 Keyless Entry System

But I guess I'm asking about local places that I can trust that knows things like this. What I looking for is something like this. AutoCommand Ultimate 2-Way Remote Car Starter , yes! I know this is very Fufu-shishish... but you get the idea.

Like I said, I'm not into 1-Button Remotes. I like to know if my car is being tampered with, not just be able to open the locks. I'm sure the $60 model has some frequency security issues. I'm sure most systems nowadays are suceptible.

But I need to know a reliable shop that can treat the car nice and not just drill, cut-away, tape, and force-hide and installation. If I sell or pass the car on, I'd like to know the install isn't something no one else can figure out.

Keep it coming, thanks for the Article, I'm saving that one.

Glad you appreciated it. That is a real good sight for other mercedes information also.
I found this too from Rick(2Phast) Stereo Updates, from browsing this thread to in another forum... Keyless Entry Writeup - MBWorld.org Forums

All DIY, I might just end up getting extra MBZ electronic connector ends and making a Security system modular for the car so I could probably do it myself and save some money too.
