Would i get any rubbing if i were t run 205/35/18 wheels and tires with it being lowered 40 mm? if so, what would be the biggest size of wheel that would fit.

You will get some rubbing, but the 35% profile will help. You're going to have to be on the lookout for ramps, pot holes and other imperfections to avoid rim damage. With the W201, 17" wheels are about the biggest you can go with assurances of no rub. Cutting the inner wheel well liner, flaring the fenders or using the 16 valve fender trim will get you additional room. You didn't mention what offset (ET) the wheels your mounting are.
