I am kind of new to the forum. I was wondering if there is any way to remove the biggest wooden trim part on the door panels. Also is there anyway to remove the lower door panel pockets? Thanks any help is appreciated. It is a 1996 e320:confused:

Not sure about the trim removal...not sure why you would want to remove it.

But, boy, if you're worried about the cost to fix trim pieces you're gonna LOVE your first head gasket, timing cover reseal, transmission conductor plate, etc...

wooden trim held by simple plastic fasteners. (no picture of the clips used.
you're on your own) pic1

door pocket is held by plastic fastener but unknown if one use only, or re-useable
design. almost look like one-use plastic rivet...or, friction fitted quick pull off from
the other side. pic2

pics from E320 but from 1999

I am having my door panels repainted professionally. And they have to be removed.

if you're near seattle, you can buy mine (if they fit your door and wood trim).

i replaced my door panels and seats with Designo design...but reused the wood.
so my charcoal seats and door panels are for sale

no, i don't know how to remove the pocket...which is what i tried to say. i wouldn't
worry too much. if you're going to remove, i'd just try to pull pocket off first. if
that fails, dremel off the metal fastener. probably better to ask a dealer first though.

How much are you asking for your door panels without wood and buttons?

they're sealed right now. let me open them up after work and inspect them
to verify parts and condition. barring any surprises the four panels would
go for $40 each plus shipping. each weigh 7# naked. check ebay while you're
at it to see if you can find color and closer seller.
