Hi everyone, just a question about wiring harness. I'm currently not a mercedes owner, but have been looking to buy one. I've notice that a lot of adds are mentioning the wiring harness. My question is, do all mercedes have this wiring harness and how problematic is it? It seems to be an expensive repair.
thanks, George

Wire Harness Info

gtadim, I believe it was all 1994 & 1995 models. Maybe someone can chime in and confirm that. My friend at the MB dealer got me the MVI (Master Vehicle Inquiry) for my 1994 E320 wagon and it listed the main engine harness being replaced while the car was under the factory warranty. I had to replace the positive harness on it. I think it was about $135.00 USD. My 1995 SL500 I replaced both Positive Cable Harness P/N 129.540.2630 List $195.00/ Cost $150.00. Engine Harness P/N/ 129.540.7705 List $840/ Cost $595.00 from the dealer. The harnesses are not difficult to replace, just costly. I don't know what type of car you are looking for, but I had sold my 1995 SL500 to my dads highschool friend about two years ago. He has speculated selling it because he doesn't drive it. The car has 47,000 miles and is in showroom condition located in Mooresville, NC. I was the second owner, and I bought it with 41,000 miles on it. I'll attach a pic. Anyway, shoot me an PM if your interested. Happy Thanksgiving..........Thor
