I am in the process of removing my instrument cluster to clean it, and have it removed except for one white wire coming out of the center at the bottom. What is the solution to get this little guy loose?

Thanks

Ahhh yes, the temperature sensor wire. The bane of every 190E cluster remover's existence.

You need to reach all the way back into the dashboard and down a little bit. You'll be able to disconnect it from down there...the plug should pull out sideways. It's a pain in the butt, but be patient with it and remember the position it was in when you pull it out, so that you can put it back in when you're done working on your cluster.

There is a wire that comes from the rear of the outside temperature gauge LCD panel that is not connected anywhere close to where the others are. I removed the knee bolster and was able to locate where the wire connects on the bottom. It is white underneath the exterior insulation and exits the cluster with two additional harnesses, in which both that disconnect right behind the cluster. I assume this is for the temperature reading that goes to the outside sensor.

It has an unusual looking connector and connects to a panel that is mounted underneath the dash.
