MBZER: Thanks! I ordered it, I'll let you know if it works out. The OEM wire harness from the 1985, nor my 1986 do not fit this radio, not even close.

Anyone know what year this radio is? It was put in my 1986 560SEL but was not wired in. I suspect it is from a later year.

I have the same radio in my '95 S500..

in turn that head goes to a small amp..

So I need the amp too? Is it safe to assume this is a '95 radio? I think I'll eBay it and get a period proper radio. If anyone here needs it, let me know (PM me). Thanks.
