My 74 230 fuel sending unit fine wires broke inside the unit. I do not see why it can not be fixed. I'm using a cooper wire strand that looks pretty close to the one that broke. But like to know how it is routed on the bottom. I can see where it was soldered on top and looks like it is one wire running from the top (where it sits installed) to the bottom and back to the top on other side and soldered. Anyone know ?

Will the float slide up and down over that lump of solder and hook?
so far YES but yesterday soldered a new wire for the one that looks like is only for the LOW FUEL circuit.. float slid freely up and down... today will work on tightening the two wires that are connected, but I still do NOT know how they are set on the bottom.. see pix

Consolidating your thread info. From the other thread (that I locked).

Opened up the SENDER and found wire broken that runs from top to bottom and returns on other side. But love for someone to tell how this wire is placed on bottom. I have soldered a new wire which I got from a regular cooper wire by pulling out a strand than placed it on the bottom piece and now the problem of learning how this wire sits before it runs back down to the other side where it is soldered. Can someone solve this puzzle for me, again THANK YOU... see picture... what you see View attachment 2804184 is the bottom and the puzzle

I have done this repair and the Achilles heel is finding the wire size and type - rumb is correct .
I have only been successful once, in many attempts , the tolerances are pretty exact , even though the mechanism is pretty simple
Many after market units are available as are some OEM

these may help
