hi guys I just got in a new bosch front wiper blade. size was 23.5. it fits arm but is to long. looks like my old wiper is 22.5.

this was bought online where i enter car year etc to make a match.

car is 2000 sl500

is there a reason for 2000 model year not to be correct?

I know it is the same as the W124 - I happened to have an extra official blade left over from my 300E. Sadly you cannot buy just blades at the dealer. Too many people were having trouble installing it, it seems.

Mine measures 23.5" but there is a thread somewhere that explains a lot of units were supplied with the part that fits in the arm hook being the wrong way round. This results in the blade measuring 12.5" from the center pin to the side window rubber and 11" from the center pin to to the middle of the hood.
But in actual fact the blade should be 11" to the side window rubber and 12.5" to the center of the hood.

To correct this, the center piece that locates into the arm hook needs to be reversed, so the blade is located in the correct offset. Fitting a smaller blade will get round the problem, but will leave a half moon untouched circle in the lower middle of the screen.
I suppose there is always a chance the later cars were made smaller but my92 is def 23.5" and works correctly.

The PO had a rain-x brand blade installed. Seems to work fine as I have been only caught out in rain once. Didn't notice the half moon Poundy mentioned maybe next time I wash her I will hop in and see how it wipes.
