Grrrr! Very annoying! I've just replace the whole thing but after working a day, it streak again... worse than before!
I'm using Bosch Micro Edge one. Streak a lot now. Might be my windshield needs lubricant? or not totally clean? How to clean it? I use some handsoap and 3M sponge but the steak is the same.

Try Rain-X and forget about the wipers .....

The rain beads up on the windshield and runs off. Once you get up a little speed the rain is blown off.

Had the same issue - dealer resolved it. Normaly - there is some adjustments that can be done to the wiper arms - may be it can help
Replace it with PIAA Silicone wiper blades and your problem will be solved. I know how annoying this is, cause my SLK's windshield wiper did this also. Just replace the wiper inserts.
Rain x is awesome.

50 - 50 ammonia and water works good to.
Thanks guys, I will try those.
BTW, AMPM mention Rain-X, do you mean to apply it to the windshiled or Rain-X brand wiper?
Rain x comes in a small yellow bottle.
It is like wax for your glass.
Put it on, let it dry buff it off.

Silicone wipers sound good, where do you get those?
Its a dirty windshield. You need to polish the glass. I have a bottle of RainX brand polish, not the treatment. They don't sell it anymore but I've seen polish at griotsgarage.com and zaino.com.
I've also heard you can use a clay bar on the glass to clean it up. I haven't tried it yet, I'm waiting for a nice day to clay bar and wax the car for my first time. I'll do the glass at the same time.
Get the glass polish from Griotsgarage.com. It does a great job.

RainX is pretty good in heavy rains but sucks in misting/light rain.
I use clay bar on mine and it works real well. You should see the dirt it pulls off even after a good wash. [:)]
No, don't use clay on glass, it won't take off the coating that is on it, you'll need the polish to do that with. Clay only takes of particles above the surface.
What coating on the glass? Aren't we trying to clean all the particles (dirt, oils, pollution, sap, etc) off the surface of the glass so the wipers have a smoother surface to slide on. I don't know why a clay bar would not help. If your windshield surface itself is the problem (scratched?) then I would agree that glass polish would be a better solution. If a clay bar doesn't help then I would move on to glass polish. I always try to start with the least harsh solution and then get more aggressive.
I remember using something called "Bon Ami" years ago to clean the windshield, don't know if and where it is still available. It worked quite well to reduce the chatter and streaking of the wipers..[:D]
I forgot to include this information of where I bought the silicone wipers from. It should also be available at Tire Rack.

What coating on the glass? QUOTE]

The coating that is being refered to is all the oils, pollution, and general crap that infects your windshield. The clay bar will remove the dirt, bugs, etc. but will not remove the oils, etc. To remove the really tough stuff you need a glass polish.
OK, I get it. Still, I think I will start with the clay bar and then move on to the glass polish if I am not satisfied with the results. Thanks.
