A local guy is parting out a 1990 300SE and I'm wondering if the windshield from that should fit my 1981 380SEL?

I'm not ye well versed in how much changed from generation 1 to generation 2 W126s.

Should the front bumper fit ?

thanks again for all your help

Bumper will fit no problem...

Windshield will probably fit-- but why do that, when a new windshield (last time I checked) was less than $150 installed? I'd think the labor alone is gonna run half that to pull yours, then pull the "parted" one off (without killing it) and then reinstalling into your car. Even $200 for a new one would make me lean away from the parted one and want the pleasure of a pristine piece of glass. Just sayin'...

ElRojo is right. Windshield will fit, but unless you know a glass guy the cost of labor will put you over half the cost of brand new. And the risk of breaking the used windshield is about 50-50. I pay $65 for a windshield R&I, if he were to pull the used one also, he would add between 50 and $65, depending on distance and his schedule. I priced a new glass for a post here last week and the cost installed was $175, with $200 being the absolute max someone in the US should pay.
