I tried using the DIY method on my 2000 E320. I am still having trouble with the drivers door and sunroof. My sunroof opens an inch at a time. I have to keep clicking the button. The drivers side door window goes up fine as long as you don't try to push the window button all the way down to automatic. Any thoughts??

for both door window and sunroof, in closed position, hold button to CLOSE
for several seconds. in quiet cabin, you will hear a slight reset click.

I tried that again this evening. Didn't work.

electronics are quirky with MBs. drives me up the wall. how about this idea
(free so for what it's worth).....disconnect the battery lead and go make a
cup of coffee. come back, reattach, and try the resync techniques again.

You have to move it and hold for few seconds on both ends.
In sunroof after you open it all the way and hear the click, push the tilt button till the roof will slide all the way to close and pop open. Than hold it.

I had the same sunroof problem when I got my coupe. try lubricating your slides on the sunroof. just open it all the way and use some silicone spray to lube it, then open and close it a few times. it fixed mine but i used PB blaster and i think it all washed off cause it is starting ti do it again after about 3 or 4 months of trouble free operation... hope it helps

I have the same problem with the windows on my car.I disconnected the battery and after that windows started to open by themselves even after I did synchronized them.What can cause the problem and what should I do to fix it?I don't want to start buying parts unless I'm sure I need them.Both passenger side windows are opening sometimes more than an inch and the the driver side rear window also.Driver side front window doesn't have this problem....for now.

Both window and sunroof are now working correctly. Putting the key in the number two positon and holding the buttons (at both open and closed position) fixed them.

lciambotti, I'm sorry how exactly do you reset and sync the windows and sunroof? My automatic window mechanism doesn't function and my sunroof only slides back 1 to 2 inches. The tilt on the sunroof works great though.
