How many of you use your windscreen when top down and how many do not? Why or why not? Do you or do you not use your wind screen with your roll bar in up position[?]

I do not use the wind screen. However, this is only because there was not one with the car when I purchased it and my attempts to find one failed. On the back roads running about 100kph it is fine. On the Autobahns, not having the wind screen available keeps me down to around 200kph for normal driving. Going over this becomes very loud and windy.

When it's cold out I use the screen (I only drive the car when the top can be down). Now that the weather is consistently warmer I will store the screen for the spring/summer.

I do not use windscreen unless there is a girl in my car (long hair) and even with that, I keep the roll bar down.

The windsreen works great (though I still don't understand how it works) [?]

So many opinions......

My roll bar is always up, without the windscreen.
For some reason the rear section of the car looks odd without either the roll bar or top up.
In my opinion the roll bar gives the car a slight
agressive look. With regards to the windscreen, I find no need for this device as I purchased a convertible with the specific intention to enjoy the wind......

Wow gqmagic, that picture deserves to be framed on the wall!!!

I don't own a windscreen but I'm looking for one, just so the car feels more "complete". I doubt I'll ever bother putting it on though, it'll stay in the trunk, hopefully in the hard plastic case.

It's a wind deflector as it deflects turbulance created after the air has passed over the windscreen and the back of the car.

I use mine on the motorway - speaking of which it's time to get the roof off and pack away the Panoramic roof :)

I love the windscreen. Most of all on the highway during my drive to work, at high speeds cuts the wind quite a bit. I love how it looks as well. My wife who is ALWAYS cold likes it because of the the less wind factor. As for just tooling around town.. No wind screen. :) I love going topless!

Like somebody above - up with windscreen on the highway, down around town.

For those looking for one - watch ebay. They seem to show up in groups, but if you watchy once a week or so, you'll find one.

I bought my SL used and it did not come ith one. I found one on ebay with the hard plastic case. I think I paid 150 delivered. It was as-new.

If thats the case, you are either very short or have the wrong type......

Driving around town does not make big difference in noise, but gives little privacy.

Above 70mph it helps a lot. My wife likes to use it far more than I do. So if you respect you lady try to accomodate her.

If you have a small dog, windscreen up or down is perfect for the dog shelf cover.

With extra tint on the windows windscreen up with the top up helps uniform look since you can not tint plastic soft top window.

No wind screen. I love to wind blowing through the car ( which isnt bad at all ). I like the look of the roll bar up but only put it up when i'm on the highway and the top is down, since it limits rear vision.

I like to ride with top down and only use the WS when temps are below 60. I won't ride with roll bar up unless I have removed the WS since it's too hard to see through the double mesh. The 129 looks great however,no matter how you drive it![8D]

I like the windscreen up with the rollbar up as well on the freeway, but in the city, i sometimes in decent parts of town will drive w/ everything down, but if tooling through a unknown area, i keep windscreen up and keep my eyes peeled for a potential car jacking[:0]. Boy, i feel real sorry for that sucker who tries jacking anything i drive![}:)].
