Hello,

Will 235/55/18 fit a 450slc?

Thanks,
Troy

Very unlikely, the usual size is like 225/55/16.

The proposed size is wider and bigger diameter - the same profil number does not help anything.

Sorry.

They sound too big to me. 18" wheels usually look way-wrong on a 107 anyway.

Wheel Offset is extremely important with tires. There might be some configurations that would not be problematic on the rears, but I can't imaging there is a setup for the front where those tires would work.

Short answer: No they won't fit.

Google: "how much tire can you stuff in there - fronts" or the same for "rears". The rears thread is in the egv107. (Not enough info on the fronts yet though.)

I have 235/40 x 18 front and rear, no clearance issues, no scrapping, drives perfect, no wheel tracking on the road on a 450 SLC

Graham, it's a slippery slope with or without rain.
Will post pics in another thread, but it is a car for someone, but not me. Decided that having two old cars (350SL/300D) is enough or even too much at this stage of life.

225 55 17's with my fingers/palm between the fender well and tire, or one inch clearance. I believe 235's would go without rubbing. Sorry it don't show width and wells better. These were AMG replica's

Mind you these are 225 55 17's, and the largest I believe that could go with no rubbing would be 235's. I don't think the rim diameter would make or break your wanting to use 18's. The key is overall tire diameter. The fronts, no problem, but the backs and the innere fender well is the concern.
