Guys,

I had a different thread regarding the m104.991 swap that I plan to do. Since I'm buying an aftermarket ECU I started thinking about buying an aftermarket TCM and replace my old and harsh 722.5 with a 722.6.

The question is will it fit? I know it bolts to the engine right on, but will it fit into the transmission tunnel?

Can somebody share the length of the whole 722.6xx?

It fits, you need a controller (~700€), 722.634 and shifter from a e270cdi w210, its direct bolt on afaik, thats what the guy from denmark who fabricates the controllers told me. i am planning same trans swap, as mu 722.5 is starting to fail.

Go to the site http://megaparts.bg and use google translate on it. There are a lot of transmissions and other stuff there and the more they stay online the cheaper they get.
I am stalking one for roughly 200 euro.

I can help with the shipping if you decide to buy one.

is the 722.6 the same length as 722.5?

Thanks, i will take a look i am too, but actualy i live in spain. If i do the swap i will bring the car to Plovdiv as i have trusted tranny mechanic to revise the future 722.6 before mounting.

I sent email to the guy asking about 722.5 compatibility. Will share the reply.

Here is what he said about e320 c124 with 722.369:

You only need to set up TPS 0 / 100% after instalation, thats it then you can drive, you can then finetune if you find some gearshift to hard. or soft

Gearbox
Gearbox from any inline 6 cylinder apart from 320CDI fits you engine. the strongest that fits you engine is from E270CDI

Gear Lever
You need the gearlewer from a C class W202 or SL class R129 then it fits the W124 (It has to be the PRNalso D432(1) the number 1 is importand )
http://ofgear.dk/userguide/gearlever.html

And i supply all plug on the wiring harness, only plug for reverse light you need to do youselve

TPS Sensor
Then you need a TPS sensor. from any W210 car

Speed Signal optionel
And speed signal is absolutly to prefer. best from front wheel ABS sensor will work

Suggestion
Suggested controller is

Alright,

722.3 is shorter than the .5xx cause it lacks the 4<>5 overdrive. If I understand correctly both .3xx and .6xx share the same length ... In that case we are gonna need longer driveshafts?

I want to be 100 percent sure what do I need to supply before starting this conversion.
