I have a 190E 1992 sedan and have taken it to two places in Melbourne. Australia(where I reside) and gotten two different stories and none of them have fixed the problem.
This is an intermittent and sporadic problem.
When starting off The engine is slow to rev up but then will rev really quickly and the gear 'kicks' with a jolt. Sometimes a big jolt and sometimes a small one sometimes soft and sometimes quite hard. Also a small jolt in second to third.
I was given some stuff about how these engines were built for icy conditions and so the engine sometimes starts in second to stop spinning (in which case why ABS?) but even so it should not jolt.
I was also suggested the vaccum may be not quite right but I had that checked and it is ok.
Anyone have any ideas?
