Hello Experts,

We're in the market for a mid-80's 380 or late 80's 560. We're trying to be smart (that isn't easy for us) and get a good sense of what a fair price is. As most of you know, there's a huge difference between what Edmunds and Kelley say vs. what the NADA says.

Of course, as buyers, we're pulling for Edmunds/Kelley - but as owners, what do you all think?
Thanks!

Personally, I think ebay is a better guage on the value of these cars. You can use the "watch this item" feature in ebay to tag a few cars and then check to see how much they brought at auction. Typically, a car on a retail lot should sell for 2-4k over auction to cover trans costs, dealer prep and profit.

I would look at 450s and 560s. The 380s don't have as good resale due to timing chain problems which gave the car a bad rep, and the gas mileage difference between a 450 and a 380 isn't that much, plus the 450 is a more powerful car.

If I was a buyer right now, I'd take a good look at this one:

That car is a downright collector's item, and it is almost too cheap.
