Why is the CLK55 AMG engine bay so boring?

The one thing about the CLK55 AMG that leaves room for improvement is the Engine Bay. The shroud the covers the engine is very boring. Even the stock 430 looks better. You'd think they could of given it a little more personality. The aftermarket tuners do a better job. The Carbon Fiber Renntech cover looks very impressive. Kleemann does a nice job except it’s pink. Anybody have or seen engine bay dress up kits?
Here’s a pic of my C5 Engine.

And if you do go for the kompressor, I believe that you can get a non-pink shroud.

Brabus also does a nice job with bays, although it might look a bit silly without one of their engine conversions. The video below has a shot of a brabus B10 engine bay...right around 5:15

For the most part, the tuners all have some kind of engine shroud/airbox combo. However, if you don't do some kind of tuner engine mod, you can always fabricate your own cover, add some high temp paint, custom logo badge, and you'd be all set.

With the Kleemann Package do you get a Boost gauge?
Do you have any warranty issues? I mean does your dealer give you a hassle? I had my vette heavely modified, my local dealer just ignored it and fixed any problem that I had. And there were lots of them.
I am very interested in the Kleemann Supercharge. I see that there is a dealer in Oakland. Is that where you had yours done?
I wanted to see a Kleemann SC and find out if there were any drive-ablity issues?
Or if there are other items that are needed that are not included in the kit?
Any unforseen problems, or if there were any nagging issues.

The only cover I like is made by renntech

Pretty classy IMO

The pink Kleeman isn't my cup of tea either [:D][:D]

Can you give me some details?
I love Carbon Fiber! Had a bunch of it on my Vette.
When the sun hit's it, it just sparkles.

sorry if I misled you there tim, but I have yet to do the kleemann kompressor. Also, I believe that frank has not done any Renntech work. I was just showing you a pic of what others have done.

If you want to check out a dyno of someone who has done the kleemann thing check out this link http://www.mbautowerks.com/performance/00001/00001.html

As for warranty issues, you'll most likely have to make friends with a dealer tech. It seems mostly at their discretion...Regardless, I believe that Kleemann has a warranty of its own. If you want to discuss this further, why not send [email protected]leemannusa.com an e-mail? Brandon's very knowledgeable and quite a helpful guy.

Larry,
Not a problem. I appreciate the information. I'm still new to the AMG world. I’m just gathering all the info I can before I jump. I put allot of money ($50K plus the car) into my vette and was very disappointed in it's performance. It became too difficult to drive around town. It had lots of power but shifting became a nuisance.
I’ve read allot on Kleemann, seams like there the specialist in S/C. RennTech is out of my price range.
I want my car to be tame and discreet when driving around town. But I want to be able to unleash the beast when necessary.

heh, sounds like

heh, sounds like "comfort power" is exactly what you might be looking for... Also, since you're in a shopping mood, have you checked out http://www.mkb-power.de? They're the ones who actually make alot of the parts for tuners such as RENNtech.
