Idiots... don't they know almost $20 a pack in some places doesn't stop people from smoking?

"What we know is that these e-cigarettes are incredibly addictive," said Rep. George Till, a Democrat from Jericho. "Nicotine is very addictive. These deliver more nicotine than regular tobacco products do and we know that kids who start with these are four times more likely to become regular smokers."

And by removing ecigs he's making it more likely for them to become smokers even faster.

Stopped me when i was in Chicago , I thought the attendant was joking at 1st lol but no, no they wernt, I just laughed and said no thx. They knew I was an outta towner

Tobacco would be banned if it wasn’t for the $13 billion+ the government makes every year off cigarette taxes.

Just like marijuana was illegal until they realized they could make a killing just by taxing it.

Not what it appears to be. At least read the links and find out what really happened.

Taken from a story:

"The cause of death is identified as a projectile wound to the head, Bill Pellan, director of investigations at the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office, said Tuesday.
The projectile was from a section of an e-cigarette. The autopsy noted that the e-cigarette was manufactured by Smok-E Mountain and was a "mod" type device."

None, but obviously you need help with a subject you may not be familiar with.

The key word is "mod", as in modified. The victim was using a mechanical mod, that means he had his batteries connected directly to the coils and obviously had no clue what he was doing.

The vape that killed Brown exploded in the parking lot outside a shop called Smoke & Vape DZ, where Brown went “to ask for help using his vape pen,” according to CNN. The local medical examiner’s office has not released the manufacturer of the device responsible for Brown’s death. “We are still investigating this. We have the manner and cause of death, but it’s still pending investigations and further testing,” a spokesperson told The Verge.

According to CBS DFW, Brown was using a type of vape called a mechanical mod. Generally, mechanical mods are pretty simple devices that have no internal safety features, according to Gregory Conley, president of the advocacy group the American Vaping Association. Pressing a button sends power from the batteries to the atomizer, which creates the vapor. Other devices shut off if they get too warm — which could precede a battery explosion, he says. But with mechanical mods, Conley says, “there is no warning system other than that the device becomes very hot.”

Sad and uncommon story but basically he killed himself.

According to a U.S. Fire Administration report, at least 195 electronic cigarettes exploded or caught fire from 2009 to 2016, and while no deaths were recorded in that time, the explosions caused 133 injuries, 38 of them severe.

As for the 'mod'... Smok-E Mountain is known Philippine crap. The same setup killed a St Petersburg guy this year.

The medical examiner says the vape was a Smok-E Mountain Mech Works, a type of unregulated mechanical mod e-cigarette, which in an online description says "does not come with safety features."

ABC Action News found an online warning explaining that the vape is not meant for beginners.

“I just don’t think they’re safe enough," explained Gary Wilder, the owner of Lizard Juice.

Wilder says he, and many other local store owners, won’t sell the “unregulated” e-cigarettes. Instead they turn to vapes with a computer chip inside, which keeps the device from overheating.

“Any other e-cig that has a computer chip in it prevents that from happening,” Wilder added.

Interesting. Just came across this...

“That went across his lip, apparently somehow, and cut his lip,” said Brown’s grandmother. “That three-piece thing went into his throat and stayed there, and that’s what (doctors) should have taken out as soon as they got to the hospital, and they decided to wait until Monday or Tuesday.”

Brown was taken to JPS in Fort Worth by ambulance.

His family said doctors took x-rays and knew Brown had a piece of e-cigarette lodged in his throat and put him in a medically-induced coma, but never operated on him.

JPS said it can’t discuss specifics due to privacy laws, but added in a statement:

“We hold ourselves to the highest standards in providing high-quality healthcare and will take family concerns seriously as we review all that transpired.”

“Murder. Not quite 25-years-old, and he should have had a long life ahead of him,” said Alice. “He should have made it if they had done the surgery.”

His grandmother said Tarrant County investigators told her the issue is the battery on the device.

The Food and Drug Administration has warned about the dangers of exploding e-cigarettes.

Brown’s grandmother said she’s not interested in suing because it won’t bring him back.

Wait.

Those lithium ion batteries have a pretty high energy density. They use those in electric cars. That ain’t no AA battery.

There’s people with them in ecigs that have no protection between their mouths and that battery???? That’s dumb.

It used to be fashionable with the 'big cloud' aficionados because it burns hotter and produce huge amounts of vapor. Most of the competitions -yes- you can find on YT use mods including bigger atomizers and homemade coils.

Beware of idiots, they are everywhere...

Good lord. That is just stupid. Easy to make all y’all guilty by association, too. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more people killed or at least with charred lips. Too easy to put a regulator in between all that energy and your head or at least a fuse.

I've never understood the logic behind having foreign particles enter your lungs and then enter your bloodstream and pass throughout your body with guaranteed harmful results down the road.

I've always considered cigarette smokers as "lottery players".....It's like you have a really huge chest of keys,.. and as the years go by, you keep trying another key..and another key, and another....until you finally find the right key that starts the engine.......and you're done...YOU WIN the car and that final lotto....

Does it start as "just trying to be cool" around your friends ?
