Here in california driving in snow isn’t much fun. The state will simply close the roads and highways or if they don’t do that you’ll have to chain up for 1/2” of snow. Even though I have a awd with snow tires they still might make me chain up. Can’t do that with a awd w220. A lot of people here have no business behind the wheel let alone behind the wheel while on snow. They’re just too stupid to safely drive anywhere. When I lived in Wisconsin enjoyed winter time a lot more.

That’s wild dude, for me, growing up in Vermont, 12 inches of snow in one whack is nothing

Apart from the 11mths I lived in Lancaster PA from late October 2000 until September 2001 doing a work project, I have never seen snow!! I loved it. Learned quickly about walking and digging heel backwards, the ice scrapers and blue fluids etc etc My kids loved snow suits and plastic saucers and sleighs.
The weirdest thing was this climate control. Yes we may have aircon in offices but in winter dress we ith coat on inside and out and same in summer.
What I would give for a tin of Cinnamon Altoids 🙏 or Curly fries!!
Lastly the remote start of your cars, and being able to drive a huge auto “couch” that floated along. No 4 cyclinder screamers I was used to! Had a large Buick rental. Was great.
Your traffic cops are cool if you are honest and respectful. I got caught going on I95 through Connecticut doing 117mph at 0:30 coming down from Lancaster PA to Marlborough MA Doubletree Inn as had meeting there the next day. He asked me why and I said wanted see how fast it would go and it’s been a looong drive and the road was open. Cost me $107 fine.

This was weekend in Johannesburg this on normal day. Cold is in the 20’soC or 70oF!! Coats on etc. This was later on around 90oF with day being around 95oF with very dry air and we at around 6,000ft here! Coastal towns like Durban in the 40oC’s often and very humid 104/5 oF
Funny how we always want what we don’t have 😆
Very bemused re polarization you guys going through now in USA now, that we had had post Apartheid in 1994 onwards in South Africa. I figured you guys were through all that. Weird world.
To all USA peeps - Be happy. You in one best lands on the planet and I can tell you through work have I been to many many counties. Be well and enjoy ur ice while it’s 19:40 here and I’m sweating 😓🤣
