Hi all..

I'm planning to export a W123 out of the US to Europe.. Why? Because I want a TDT, and over here there "impossilble" to find. Besides that I really like all the fancy stuff like power windows, Cruise control, Klimate control.. Finding this on any W123 in europe is almost imposible.. Add the 2 together, and you found my reason to search the US..

But where to look? I know sites as Ebay, and Autotrader.. We have both of them over here too, and they're both reasonalble good sites to find cars. But over here there are 2, or 3 which are a lot better. Easier search options, and,.. most important: much more adds..

But i'm unfamiliar with US sites.. So what sites do you use for searching?

Thanks..

Tips for a car for sale are off course also appreciated :)

Everbody's on about Craigslist. Seems to be devided in local areas and I don't know if they have some kind of central serch function, or if you have to check all 50 states one by one..

You should never buy a car whit out looking at it for yourself first, it's really risky and you may end not being glad about your new car.

I got to hits on Mobile.de that has the standard American equipment.

It's kind of odd that there are so few of these in Germany, cause in Norway there are loads.

I would stick with southern and midwest US. Nothing north of mason dixon. raleigh.craigslist.com is really busy.

Why dont you just buy the engine ? Certainly alot cheaper to transport back.

Off course he wants the whole car, one without rust off course. Many euros don't have AC, leather, Electric windows etc. Only thing usually missing is the ABS-brakes. :)
Some of you Americans drive the pre-80 cars, those can allmost not be found here anymore beacause they have rusted away.

Thats because they changed the metal composition in 1983. In 83/84 the 201 was available and few W123 were still sold.

Have you looked into what it would cost to ship a W123 from US to Netherlands? I haven't listed her yet, but I own a 1982 300D Turbo which I'm getting ready to put on sale.
Champagne exterior, palomino leather interior, A/C (R134 blows cold), power windows, locks, alloys, sheepskins, AM/FM/CD...approximately 135K original. PM if interested.
