The trunk lid is already kind of busy and I don't want to remove the 4MATIC badge. Where would the AMG badge look good?

Since you really want us to tell you where to stick it...

I would suggest a drawer. I am not a fan of AMG badges on cars that aren't built by AMG. However, if you insist on putting it on the car, please remove the C240 badge.
whatever you do

You should seek advice from Gracie. For all things badgers, she is a meister.

Don't injure yourself!

i'm with Lynn, don't badge unless you have some sort of AMG mod, rims, bodykit, engine mods... you never know, your car might make one of the other forums for being misbadged... my recommendation is don't do it on a stock car...

What you can do is cover the car in chequered tape , which, with the weight saved by leaving the badge off will really make you go faster.
Better still, act grown up and if you want to be Mr AMG Cool, go out and buy a C32. The AMG badge is then a free accessory...
It has to do with wind resistance

your car goes faster because of the indentations since it is only paintedon 50% of the suface, the non painted area is slightly indented. Basically, it works ike the little indentations in the golf balls to make them go farther.

Also, you save weight because of the paint that is no longer necessary.

A teflon coating on the badge will counteract the extrawigth by giving you a glide effect, besides, my friend's half brother's wife's second's cousin works for AMG in Germany and assured me that the badge adds 15hp to the wheel. I have the dyno curves to prove it.
Does this mean that two AMG badges will give 30hp??

Tests show decreasing marginal output with a plateau attained at 3 badges, good for 24hp
Prospective Mercedes-Benz vehicle buyer.

ChuckV,

I am looking at buying a entry luxury sedan and have narrowed down my choices to a BMW dreier or a C-Klasse.

I am exited by your post. Could you give me some details on the C24 AMG?

Are you satisfied with the C-Class's amenities?
Do you have problems with the car itself, is it reliable? (The BMW salesperson said there were stories in the Wall Street Journal about Mercedes-Benz quality not being what it was a few years ago)
What packages are available on your AMG model?
The Mercedes-Benz dealership I visited in Dallas did not mention your model in the C-Class line-up.
What are the specifications/performance of a C24?
Can you race and beat a C320?
Is the price comparable to a C320 or is it less if it is a smaller V6 or even a four cylinder with some kind of turbo?

Thank you for a reply

AFAIK, there is no C24 AMG only C32 ;-)

and for the good info on the car you are looking go to www.mbusa.com and create your MB with all the option you like, then print them out and compare to KBB.com invoice price, by doing than you have a better idea how to deal with the dealer.[:)][;)]hope thi shelp with your question. and welcome aboard Jane.[8D][;)]
That is confusing
OK, Chuck...I give UPPPPPP!!!!!!

LMAO!
[:D]
That's not very nice.

First, I would like to thank you for your replies, both JimB and yourself.

JimB said that such model does not exist!
You imply that it does and that it doesn't and that is not very nice to make fun of people. If I had less than the understanding I have of Schroedinger's cat, I would not think it possible for the C24 to exist and not exist at the sametime.

Paris is not too far from Plano, which is a suburb of dallas. we are to the east and north. Frankly speaking, sir, if your friend is anything like you, I doubt that I should like to meet him.

I was just on the site that JimB mentioned, www.MBUSA.com, and none of them models you have exist!!!!

Maybe you should not try so hard to be funny.
I don't know how to correct my e-mails

Is there some kind of administrator that I need to contact to change the e-mails I send to this forum thing?

I meant to say that I should NOT like to meet him.

There are many types who live in Texas and that may be the only common thing I have with your friend. The Plano people and the Dallas people have very high opinions of themselves.

Please do not send me more e-mails on this form, you already lied to me about the C24, that I just confirmed with Mercedes-Benz. I'll pray for you this coming Sunday, after that, you're on your own.

Jane, please do not be upset over this - it maybe got too out of hand for a newcomer to MB. I agree it is has been unfair on you, but please stay - most of us are ok!
Wherever you go there will always be someone who is not happy with their lot. In this case we have someone not content with having a C240, he has to pretend to mix with the big boys. AMG denote their cars by removing the 0 from the MB name, or add a 5.
Chuck decides he will go one better and make a C24 - a model that AMG never mnade nor ever will..
The banter between tcp and myself is poking fun at this Chuck.
An AMG badge does not, except to a boy racers mind, add any hp, and chequered tape certainly does not make you go faster, but it is the standard joke regarding boy racers.

Seriously, AMG ONLY make a C32, SLK32, CLK55, CL55, ML55, SL55 and S55. There is talk they might play with a diesel engine one day.
The 32 models are basic 320 V6 engines with a Kompressor (supercharger) and some chip mods. Very quick indeed and arguably the best set up they have. The 55 engines are V8 5.5 litre engines, with a Kompressor on the CL, SL, S and I think the ML (someone may correct me here) the CLK is normally aspirated.
AMG played with others in the past, the SL60 and SL75 were V12 engines, and maybe their best production was the recent C55.

If you want a small, reliable AMG, then the C32 or SLK32 is a must. If you want the best try and find a C55...

AMG cars are not fast is the true sense, as MB cater for those who have grown out of the noisy exhaust and spaced wheels with no guts. But what they do offer is the basis for creating a fast machine if you are so minded.

Let me know what sort of car you are looking for and I or one of the more grown up of us will work out the best for you.

Why am I here with a 280? well it is supercharged and chipped, but instead of the AMG badge, I have changed the 2 for a 1, waiting for the Chucks of the world to draw alongside, without realising that my 9 inch tyres are there to get the 310hp onto the road rather than for looks...! Hey, its fun in an otherwise crazy world!

Now, you say a prayer for me too on Sunday!

No, Chuck thanks for the offer;-)

Dear sir,

Oh how I wish people had manners like you.

I am grateful for your answer. I've done my homework and now I understand the AMG thingy. I even found a reference to the diesel car by AMG It's the C30, but I could not find the C55.

Something really bothers me though. You say you own a C280 and the dealer said they only had C240s and C320s. It that related to the supercharger you said you have or is it for the UK market. I'm sorry your car is chipped already, hope it is in a inconspicuous area.

I feel sorry for this man Chuck who bought a car that is already not satisfying him. Maybe he is not, you know, wealthy enough to own a Mercedes-Benz.

I'm glad there are good fellows like you boy racers with integrity and all. Some of the words you use are funny, chequered, tyres, hp, Kompresoor and such (I could not find the latter two in the Wester's dictionnary even though it has british words too)

Thank you for your advise. Do you know as much about BMWs? Which would you buy, assuming money is no object but $32,000 is the max I can afford?
