talk to Mercedes. on diesel motors, with a core exchange, a new/rebuilt motor costs about 500 bucks. if you send your motor to Mercedes and ask for a new one, it'll be a pretty good deal.
also, i've been told that Ford and GM small-block V8's will fit in nicely. i'm sure a Merc V8 will fit, but it'll be more expensive. the V8 conversion could cost upwards of 5 grand.
i think forced induction and a built block would be your best bet. you have the biggest engine available on non-AMG tuned 190's. and would cost less.

i would not put in a new motor with that low of miles. unless you wanted to swap in a v8 or something like that.
you would have to find a very reputable engine/speed shop that knows a good bit about mercedes motors. for a turbo, you would have to get a custom set-up made. maybe even give renntech or brabus a call/email. tell them what you are interested in doing, i'm sure they can direct you somewhere. they are big names and probably carry big prices.
search on the internet for their contact info.
a speed shop would be able to make a custom set-up cheaper and have a stand-alone engine management control.

you have to understand that tuning a mercedes is not like tuning a honda or a american car. it'll take a lot of money and searching to find the right parts. they are not readily available like the cheaper cars. that said, it can be done but you ahve to be willing to put up with the time and effort.

i really don't know how much power you are going to get out of it. the AMG tuned 190 EvoII makes about 250hp. there is a guy on here that has an EvoII, he has a website that lists all the performance stats of the car.

good luck.
