I bought a hard wire power cable for my Magellan GPS so I won't have to use the cig lighter.

Compatible GPS Direct Wire 12-30V Hardwire Cable for Magellan Roadmate 800 to 6000, Maestro, Crossover Series

Where and how should I connect it? Preferably somewhere close to the cupholder because I have the GPS installed there.

I wired my Garmin in my Honda Passport by buying a cigarette lighter socket, wiring that behind the dash, tapping the hot off of the cigarette lighter circuit then plugging the Garmin factory cig lighter adapter into my newly wired socket. I also did this for my Sirius radio in the Passport. I have more cig lighter adapters behind my dash than I got out front LOL

I also am waiting on my hardwire kit...... I thought about hardwiring it to my glove box light, obviously before the switch...so it has constant power, except when engine is off.
This way, if I want to hide the cable, i just put it into the glove box or have it running out of glove box to unit, either way not alot of wire is exposed.

or just hardwire it to cig lighter and run it down the side under center console. just a idea.

I have not tested my glove box light idea yet...LOL, should work in theory
