The way I found was best to install a new thermostat is to hold the thermostat in the upper housing while wiggling the upper housing onto the 42mm hose then slowly settle it into the lower housing. Losing the hose clamp on the manifold side of the 42mm hose to get more angle might help.

While you have the upper thermostat housing off replace the short piece of 42mm coolant hose.

So someone told me that I did not remove my thermostat housing from my car ge said it's on the left side of the pump not on the top is he correct?
No he is not. Never listen to him again.

My thermostat is on the left side of the water pump just saw it there
