Doing a front turn signal "delete" (integrating them into the US spec lighting assembly), fog light delete and a pretty involved bumper tuck. I have traced the fog light leads several times, and I can't find a terminal in the engine bay that would allow for a simple disconnect, but believe I am probably missing something. Looking very clean, can't wait to post a photo!

There is no simple terminal. The foglight wires in the 81 go directly from each light to the light switch with no interruptions. That means the left wire passes through the top of the radiator support where it joins the main wire harness along with the right fog light. At that point both wires run along the right fender until they pass through the firewall. Then they run under the bottom of the dash to the headlight switch. Then the left ground is short. It goes to the radiator support. The right ground goes with the wire harness to the ground on the right side or the dash.

Thank you Ron, I figured as much after following that wiring harness. I think I will pick up some two-way connectors and make my own terminals in a more accessible place, should I decide to install them again.

both wires run down each side of the radiator support along with the horn wires. I would recommend pulling them out to that point and put a closed end but splice on the ends of each wire. There should be a tie strap on each side you can bundle them and tie them down to.

I really love my incandescents, halogens and the stock look! The objective here is to clean up the front end; remove the hanging box lights and their umbilicals. I am halfway there. I fitted 2-way bulbs in my side markers for turn signal indication, which is totally invisible. As for visible front signals, I'm still in the planning stages, but I think LED strip lighting inside of the headlight bezel might be the most visible and least obtrusive option. There's not a lot of room in those things, unfortunately!

As for the bumper tuck, the rear is finished, and looks very nice. I removed 2" sections of the side rubber, and did some very involved finishing work to get them seamless, which I do not want to do for the front (it was not fun).

SO, I've ordered a couple of front bumper rubber side "things" from a W116 for about $100. They are shorter to be sure, but fitment is TBD.

Photo of my length reduction and re-shaping of the rear:
