Does anyone know where can purchase this online ? I am based in Asia and really have a tough time to hunt this, my dealer keep saying that there is no stock and may take 3 months to arrive.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks !

www.r171.co.uk has them and I should be receiving mine next week, painted to match already, being shipped directly from AMG. I ordered it Jan 3rd, so it's taken quite awhile so far to receive it.
Hi there,

I ordered my rear-wing from my local dealer here in Sweden. My car is iridium-silver (775) and the spoiler was in stock at the AMG-factory. So it should only take 3 days for me to receive it.

Since it comes painted from the factory maybe the delivery time depends based on how rare you colour is. My silver-paint is probably the most common and therefore it will only take 3 days for my delivery...

Anyone know how difficult it is to mount it on the boot? Do you need to put glue on it and fit it in or is it a simple installation?.. I'm considering letting my dealer put it on but that will of course cost extra money and I wont do that if it's simple to do it by myself.. any input on this?

Cheers,
Lukas
Yes Mercedes sell a special glue to attach the spoiler to the boot lid.
You should not need glue to adhere the wing. It should come with an adhesive on the bottom which you will want to heat up along with heating up the trunk lid, apply and then do not drive for 24 hours.
The mounting of the rear wing is that simple??
No screws or drilling?? just double face mounting tape? how could this be?? wouldn't people just want to rip them off and steal them??
Anybody know the part# or cost in the US?
I would consider it, if it were drilled on the trunk.
Yes, NO drilling. Most smaller spoilers and other effects are adhered this way. It will probably be almost impossible to remove once it's "set". We aren't talking the roll of double sided foam tape you can get at Wally World. [:)]

By the way, the cost is around $400 painted to match.
Hi there smoothcoat,

If a person wants to steal. By hook or by crook, he will get it be it whether is screwed or not. hahaha....

Cheers man...

Ianx,

Is this part number referring to the iridium silver ? I understand from my MB dealer that the 790 denotes the exact colour of the wing.

What is everyone paying for the AMG spoiler? I stopped by my dealer and thay quoted me a price of $515.00 US + tax. OUCH! I thought somebody said it was around $400.00. Did they quote me the right price?

The full part number for the rear wing (spoiler) in Iridium Silver is as follows:

171 790 00 88 9775

Order it through the M-B dealer and they will charge you 1 hour to install it - well worth it considering you only have one shot at installing it right!
