Hi there, this is my first post ever so this is *VERY* exciting for me! :D

I have a 99 C230 Kompressor and just last week I got my first flat tire ever. I know absolutely none of the basics I should know to be reasonably self sufficient (yet).

My first question is where are my jack points? The little bit of research I have done today has taught me that I can't just use any spot beneath my car to lift it. I have the owners manual which gives instructions for changing the tire with the factory jack but I bought the car used and all the items needed to change a flat are missing. :(

I now have to buy my own jack but now I have no idea what to buy. Before I buy I need to know what kind/type - to make the right decision I need to know where my jack points are right? I am also confused about jack height, I need something that will clear beneath the car right? All I need to do is measure literally from the bottom most edge of the car to the bottom of the ground? Will I also need to know the jacks maximum lift height for some reason? Is there a minimum lift height needed to actually remove the tire??

Thank you in advance, I really appreciate it!!!

Mal, the jack points are at the bottom of the rocker. In the owners manual, they show where to insert the jack. AKA the "jack points". But there are lift points which are below that on the rocker panel. They are rubber pads. Make sure they are in good condition before lifting it. By that I mean they are not cracked. They are replaceable if they are cracked.

Thank you!! I had no idea that I needed to know of "lift points" too and that I would need to inspect them first! Thank you again!
