Hi all.

Just thinking a bit here. Is there a limit to protection of property?

I think it's wise to try to avoid putting yourself in situations where you have no options. Personally, I wouldn't like to place myself firmly between a nasty gang and something they wanted real bad. Or someone I love. If they really want your car, they ARE going to get it. Apparently with or without limbs. What if they invent a system that needs your right leg? Or your eye iris print?

And these new Benz's lock the doors when passing 3 (?) km/h. They say it's a hi-jack prevention thing. But what if you crash, and are surrounded by ordinary bypassers that can't help you? Even if MB says it will open, it doesn't always do that.

Maybe that's why I love my rusty, sturdy, and non failing 87 W124 so much? And if need be, I can hand it over to anyone I like.

Regards

Geir

Remember also that our Fabulous 80s MBs come with the ‘pull the doors off with a chain’ handles…[;)]

Get a Clifford 'Blackjax' alarm system fitted. Someone jacks your car, give them your keys, they drive away for approx 1 minute, which should give you some safe distance and then the car coasts to a stop with lights and siren flashing/blaring.
The jackers then abandon the vehicle, leaving you/the police your car. And your fingers.
Well worth the money.
