Hi everyone

I will be posting in the classifieds, craiglist and ebay, but wanted to drop a line here first. Putting my 77 450SL back to original.

I will be selling the following:

1. 560sl front air dam (excellent shape)

2. 560SL Factory wheels (silver, not chrome) with correct lugs and new center caps. These came off a 29,000 mile 560sl in Excellent shape with 4 new tires mounted and balanced, less than 100 miles on them (Falken ZIEX 205x65Rx15)

3. Original Mercedes wind screen (air deflector) with adapters for the 450sl

4. 560sl Aluminum air cleaner with new filter excellent condition

Not wanting to ship the front air dam (spoiler) or wheels due to expense of shipping unless you want to pay for oversized shipping.

You can email me if interested at [email protected] or call 480-628-4134.

Wouldn't also mind getting your opinions on price.

Thanks

Dan

Good luck on your sales Dan. FWIW I just completed my search for stock, mint OEM finish wheels for my 560 SL, which came from 3 different sources at a total cost of $420 with shipping included, or around $75 per wheel. One was a never used spare which I paid freight of $50 on, and will likely junk the tire. Two wheels only cost me $60 to ship and one I found locally. Bottom line I did not think around $100 per wheel at my door was unreasonable for these - having the mint OEM finish was important to me and it may be to someone else.

So say around $75 per wheel, add what your tire cost was and discount whatever that is by a third because even with 100 miles they are what they are - used tires and you have a pretty good idea of how to price that set. Oversize shipping should cost buyer $200 for the whole shooting match - but remember you have to hassle shipping so I would give the local guy a better break for not adding to the hassle factor.

If it was a couple months ago I would have been interested myself but good luck with it and your 450 SL project!

It is often worthwhile to look at Greyhound Package Express on large items.

True. I received an AMG air dam via grayhound and it was simply all wrapped on bubble wrap and tape, and maybe some Saran Wrap. (I'm seeking a 560sl air dam too.)
