1985 300d, is a 22mm wheel spacer too much for the rear wheels? The off set with the fender will handle it, but not sure the studs will.

22mm spacer is huge, good luck finding bolts long enough.

I'm running about 20mm spacers on my rear wheels. You can find 60mm long wheel bolts on Ebay that will work. Thread size is M12x1.5 pitch.
As a reminder, when using spacers, re-tighten the wheel bolts after a couple hundred miles after the mating surfaces of the wheel, spacer, and hub "seat-in".
