I have a 2002 SLK 32 AMG and wish to upgrade the wheels and tires - I went to a website that would sell a set of BBS wheels at 225/35/R18 FRONT and 265/30/R19 REAR - is it ok to put 18"wheels on the front and 19" on the rear? Also - can I upgrade the wheel size to 18" or 19" without rolling the fenders? Any suggestions would help me out a lot! Thank you!

I've got 18s on mine (18x8.5, 18x9.5) w/no modifications. I know people have 19s on their SLKs but it's not recommended. I believe AMG fender wells are already rolled slightly from the factory.

Just make sure you keep the OD of your tires the same as stock.

you may want to ask them specifically about the slk32 b/c the brake calipers are larger. Not all slk rims fit the slk32.

If they fit there are no problems running different size wheels front & rear. The only question would be how it looks. I have been very tempted to run 17's up front & 18's in rear.

don't you have to make sure the diameters are the same? I heard that it would mess up the computer if the RPMs vary too much--the computer may think one tire is slipping.

I think the 17/18 idea is cool. My old vette had that setup.

The Chrysler Crossfire has different size wheels in front than in back. It is based on the SLK.

The wheel diameter isn't critical, the tire outside diameter is. As long as the OD is within 3% the computer will work with it. Obviously the closer the OD's are, the better.

I kind of thought that's what you meant, but...

For the newer guys, I figured that I would clarify it. There was no intention to degrade your comment.[:D]
