tore into my 380 SEL today and went to replace wheel bearings. Problem is the Part #s do not match what is on the car. They are too small. Does anyone have a 86 or newer front wheel seal in the box or a hub that could give me some measurements. nothing in stock so I have to order the parts need car on Monday and do not have time for error. I am thinking that someone updated the hub in the first 130,000 of its life.

Thanks

Had the same problem last week. I bought the seals for my car from Autozone (1990 420sel) and they gave me a Timken #1960 brand seal, and the seal was too big for the hub. Its a manufacturing error i believe. Find a place that sells just import car parts. I ended up buying the Elring brand seal and it fit like a glove. The seal is the same for all w126's i beleive, no change in the hub for different years
