A buddy of mine has a 2001 (I believe) E320 wagon. I checked the owners manual and the stock wheels are 7.5J x 16 with an 41 mm.
Will a set of slk wheels (probably from a 99) fit without spacers? The offset is 37mm. I believe the tires on there are 205 55 16. Wheels are 7J x 16.

Thanks

The wheels will fit fine subject to the following caveats.

The tire size is wrong for the W210 chassis, use proper tire sizes.

The more complicating factor is that you've only included the front wheel spec. R170/171 came with staggered wheels, so the rear is probably a 7.5" with a different offset. (The wheels should still fit fine, however.)

That means your buddy must be uber-cautious about ensuring that the staggered tires he selects are of the proper size to maintain a very close OD differential, and if the wagon is a 4matic, it's got to be nearly identical.

And, of course, this does away with the possibility of rotating them, so his tire life will suffer. (Industry standard is not to mount the same size tire on staggered wheels, but he might find a shop willing to do that.)

Personally, that's too many sacrifices for a set of wheels. I'd instead choose something better suited to the W210 wagon.

Good luck.

Thanks Check Codes. The wheels are front a non AMG sports package r170 so they are all the same size. He will likely replace the tires with the one he has not on his cracked rims. I just did not want him to go through the trouble of pulling his wheels off and then finding fitting issues with this set.
Thanks again,

Thanks again,
There's something wrong somewhere. The information I have is that all of the US SLK came with the staggered wheels. 16" on the base, 17" on the sport and AMG variants.

Assuming they are all the same size, I'm wondering if they are some kind of knockoff aftermarket wheel that the SLK owner put on, which would explain why they are all the same size.

I have to run out to the garage and check on them this weekend. They are Mercedes wheels. I used them on my slk during the winters. As far as I remember they were the same size. I will check this weekend. Too dark and cold right now.
